C. G. Gordon Martin

Mr. Martin founded The Law Offices of C. G. Gordon Martin in June, 1997 after having been a litigation partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP for over ten years.  At Morgan, Lewis, he represented clients in complex business litigation, white collar criminal defense, corporate compliance, and internal corporate investigations. His intellectual property practice at Morgan, Lewis included trademark and patent infringement litigation, advising clients on patent and trademark licensing and related applications to register trademarks.

After initially focusing on litigation in the late 1990s, Mr. Martin’s practice expanded to include corporate structuring, transactions and assisting clients in the development and management of intellectual property. While continuing to represent clients in the defense and prosecution of patent and trademark litigation, his trademark practice expanded to include filing applications to register trademarks in the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the European Union, and in over 20 other countries, such as China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and Australia.  More recently, he has successfully prosecuted claims against cybersquatters in UDRP proceedings, both in the United States and in other countries, resulting in the transfer of the offending domain to his clients.

Mr. Martin’s clients range from small to medium-sized businesses to large companies with products sold in over 130 countries.  Industries and products for which he has obtained trademarks include online retail sales, consumer personal care products, nutritional supplements, wholesale fabrics, automotive reconditioning, personal services, educational services, legal services, charitable services, banking, jewelry, clothing, motion picture production, music downloads, charitable services, books and printed materials, trade associations, typeface fonts, restaurants and talent agents.

Mr. Martin’s wide-ranging experience enables him to provide clients with cost-effective advice and a broader perspective on the general matters that affect their businesses, in addition to the development and protection of intellectual property.
